What is ECMA?ECMA is an acronym that stands for Excellence in Christian Music Academy What is ECMA all about? The ECMA was created to ease confusion and an inability of most artists to access appropriate career development tools by providing education, motivation, and recognition within one program while simultaneously recognizing them for their achievements and hard work. Are there other programs already available like ECMA? Yes and no. ECMA is unique in that while there are some great existing programs the ECMA project is very comprehensive and represents a new era in the training, education, and development of Christian/Gospel music artists. ECMA provides the opportunity to maximize an artists capabilities while recognizing their individual initiative. Engaging in this specialized ECMA program positions artists for improved successes and postures ECMA as a leader in the Christian/Gospel music industry. What can artists/participants expect from ECMA? The ECMA process has been designed to provide a comprehensive Christian-based music industry training program for each candidate and their management team. Candidates are nominated based on their involvement in the educational training sessions provided and / or recommended by the ECMA committee. Successful nominees must complete educational training sessions in the areas of stage presence, vocal technique, public speaking, media relations, career management, marketing, distribution, studio technique, and radio promotion. After receiving educational training, nominees will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge by implementing the strategies learned in their individual ministries or within their music careers. Are there any professional or music industry organizations that support ECMA? Yes, actually the ECMA Project is supported by the Strategic Music Partnerships (SMP) which boasts 3,028 Facebook members. The SMP, partnering with ECMA has assembled a top-notch team of experts to form the new SMPECMA Candidates Coaching Team. Is participation in the ECMA limited by geographical location? No. Individuals completing the ECMA program will represent their state at the annual ECMA Program. What are the requirements to participate? To be considered a candidate for an ECMA, recording companies and independent music artists may submit recordings and music videos that have been released during the eligibility period. Artist nominations are determined by registration, attending orientation and coaching sessions. A one-time non-refundable registration fee of $150 is required to cover administrative costs of registration, orientation and access to ongoing coaching throughout the year. Eligibility Requirements To become an ECMA candidate, an individual must be actively involved in the music industry as an independent vocalist, songwriter, composer, producer, instrumentalist, writer, narrator and/or music video artist. The candidate must demonstrate the ECMA standards of excellence by: -Registering for the program -Attending/Participating in orientation and coaching sessions throughout the eligibility period. -Be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent to participate.
